The San Diego Sheet Metal Workers are proud to offer the following APPRENTICE AND JOURNEYMAN TRAINING PROGRAMS:
State certified apprentice training programs (5-year program)
960  hours of classroom instruction
8000 hours of on-the-job training
Drug testing mandatory for acceptance into apprentice program
Advanced journeyman training programs
Specification and blueprint reading
Sketching and drafting
CAD (computer aided drafting)
Welding
Testing and balancing of air systems
HVAC service work
Green Technologies

MANDATORY SAFETY TRAINING:
All apprentices receive mandatory safety training and are required to take First Aid, C.P.R, fall protection and safety training. Local 206 also has an established Alcohol/Substance Abuse Policy.

LOCAL 206 TRAINING INVESTMENT:
$750,000 invested annually in apprentice and journeyman training.

INTERNATIONAL TRAINING SYSTEM: Local union training programs supported by the International Training Institute (I.T.I.), $7.5 million invested annually to provide nationwide standardized apprentice and journeyman training.
